Community Development Project of the Year

Social gain and community development are at the heart of what makes community radio unique, and great for the communities they are part of and serve.

This award is designed to showcase those stations that run fantastic projects dealing with community issues. The projects don’t have to be on air, but the station has to be the main organiser.

Examples could include training projects, fundraising campaigns with other organisations, community activity days or projects and stations that run community facilities such as museums and cafes.

Innovation Award

This award is designed to showcase those stations that have tried, succeeded and are proud of something that they have achieved that’s unique and innovative to community radio. From studios of all shapes and sizes in creative places and new technical developments, or innovative funding, income streams or entrepreneurial business practices, to truly unique and inspiring social gain or community development projects.

If this award category receives a large amount of entries it may get split into the following sub categories:

Community Show of the Year

This award features programmes which promote community organisations, events and activities – from one- off shows to regular features.
